After two years of searching, I finally found a replacement quartz clock for my C2 Corvette. I am going to get my old clock repaired (also quartz) so I have a back up.
Now I have to figure out how to remove the old one and install the new one.
I have seen some old posts on the subject. It appears removing the clips behind the clock (and not losing them behind the dash) and putting them back on when done is the hard part.
Does anyone have any good photo of what it looks like behind the clock so I can see what I am up against?
Also, any step by step instructions how to remove and put back the panels and glove box in order to reach behind the clock would be helpful.
Clock takes about 15-20 minutes to R&R. Super easy. Like NM stated pull the glove box. Sitting in the pass seat reach in with you right arm. Unplug it and slide off the 2 clips. If you drop one simply pull the console side pane to retrieve it.
I also extended my clock wiring. I also lost one of the clips, but had a spare. My problem was when I turned on my lights the clock would stop. One of the spades in the terminal was pushed back and not making contact. I had it a shop prior for A/C and transmission sealed on powerglide.
