So, now that I have a C2 I want to learn as much as possible and learn how to do some of the maintenance/ repairs on my own. Of course it helps to know a guy or two nearby so we help each other and about sometimes excessive hourly rates. I live in the Bucks County, Chalfont area of PA. Anyone know a couple guys (old school gear heads) in the area that are willing to help people out? thanks,
I'm no expert, but have just about completely restored my 64, and have helped a couple of local buddies with theirs.
I'm in the Easton area, if you ever get over this way, but I think were bout 30 miles apart.
There is also " The Corvette Shop" in Pipersville, they do very nice work. Ask for Sean. !
Try and see if Hamm is still around. He had a shop on radcliffe street in bristol. Great mechanic as was his Dad who was my Dad's best friend. They grew up together in Bristol. His Phone number is (215) 788-6702

I have heard of TheVetteShop and look forward to meeting Sean. The only issue is their hourly rate is posted at $145/hr. I respect great work but I can only use them for major issues at that rate.

Sounds like a fair price. Our local tire shop gets 135/hour and the Mercedes dealer up the street gets 250/hour. I have a good friend that I worked for many years ago and had his own shop for over 30 years. He has done every kind of classic car there is. I'll ask him if he is up to some work in his home shop. Last time ( about two years ago) he did a 49 MG . He charged the owner 50 an hour. I told him he was crazy.

I am just up 309 from you. There are lots of decent people in the area, as well as a club in Del Valley & Allentown. I am not affiliated with either, but am a resource if you PM me.
BTW - What kind of stuff are you looking to do? The brain trust here is great regardless of geography!
