No, Redbird was asking me if I had to drill the holes for my conversion. Mine is a ‘64 and I had to drill them myself.
John, It wasn’t too difficult, I just mocked up the collectors to the manifolds and paralleled the pipes to the frame. Positioning the holes is pretty self explanatory. I can give you my measurements if you need them. JC
Is there a preferred vendor for a side pipe set?
I’m on the cusp of ordering a set & would welcome insight. (Pipes, covers, trim, hardware)
I also heard many vendors are pushing “clampable” sets as it saves on shipping & might be slightly easier to install.
John, let me know if this doesn’t make sense. I took a picture of the factory hole and its measurement from the end of the frame on my car. The keyhole slot I cut is centered under it. (Pictured) The distance center to center of the two holes is approximately 2 3/4 inches. The dimensions of the keyhole slot I cut is pictured. I made an aluminum template that I used to mark the hole to cut then just flipped it over and repeated it on the other side. If you need a better explanation just let me know. I can mail you my template if you want it.
