Checked for brake pad drag.
When applying brakes it is smooth and straight with no pull or drift.
?
Based on above, I think you may have a bad brake hose that is internally collapsing, not releasing all the pressure on both front calipers. You may not pick it up when checking brake drag with the wheels off because the pressure has had the chance to equalize across the system. When you apply the brakes and the pull goes away, the front circuit pressure is uniform. If you have a hose with some internal degradation, it can work somewhat like a check valve and not take all the pressure off the caliper at once when you're off the brakes.

Just a thought.
When I had all the bushing replaced I also had all the brake line hoses replaced and rebuilt the calipers. Assuming the hoses are ok internally due to being new but lots of new stuff is junk these days so
I will double check to see if this could be a possible cause.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Probably not a hose, then. I’ve never seen a new caliper hang-up personally, but I suppose that’s possible as well. I just had a really strange brake issue on an old K10, and it was actually bad aftermarket pads. Good quality parts are a heavy lift to find anymore. I also had a caliper hang up on an old Porsche recently, but that’s a 30 year old part so it’s not relevant.
