All, I'm looking at a 1959 corvette with this code on the engine block pad "F0224D". There are no other letters after the "D", is this an original 1959 Corvette block?
It's not a Corvette engine, and may not even be a 1959.
The "D" suffix code could be a 56 265/205 4bbl truck engine, a 58-62 283/170 2bbl with a Powerglide out of a full size Chevy, or a 63-64 283/190 2bbl Powerglide from a 63-64 full size or a 64 Chevy II or Chevelle. You'll need to take a look at the casting number and casting date which are both found on the transmission mounting flange on the back of the block, to know exactly what engine it is.
