Stock muncie trans. Funny you should mention shroud. I did have to adjust the shroud a bit because it was hitting the fan. It is really close.

Default update

This big block build is quite different that the small blocks I'm used to. When initially installing the L/H side exhaust manifold, it was hitting the upper control arm. That is when I found out I needed the factory shims under the motor mount. I used 2 shims under the L/H mount to make sure it cleared (it does) but I never put one under the R/H mount. So I figured I would try that to see if it made a difference and sure enough....the belt is now off the frame. Hopefully, these shims will not interfere with the hood clearance for air cleaner.....we'll see.
Thank you all for your input.
Cheers,
Bill

Hmmm, I "thought" the shims were for A/C cars. Just a thought, is it possible your frame is out of spec?
There are measurements to check the distance between the control arms, I don't know them offhand.
Maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

Play doh or even clay from a detailer kit works well to check for air cleaner clearance. Better safe than sorry.
