[C2] Ignition Switch Light Diffuser
Myself and another Forum member were both wondering if any of you know if any of the many vendors out there in C2 land make and sell the small tombstone shaped light diffuser piece that fits into the back side of a C2 ignition switch? Most of the used OE ignition switches that we encounter for sale do not have them anymore. As a result we have begun making our own to replace the missing diffuser.
I've have never seen these sold separately from an ignition switch and so was curious. There is a wealth of knowledge on this Forum so we thought that one of you may know. Below are two pictures (not my pics - my thanks to those who provided them) of two different styles (believe that the round hole is what C2's used) of two different diffusers, just FYI .
Thank you for any insight you all may be able to provide on such an obscure question. Happy Thanksgiving to All. C.J.
For those unaware...
The beam of light passes from the hole through the slot in the housing to illuminate the outer portion of the tumbler.
This is a original from a 67 switch.
Not very bright at night.
ive never seen them sold separately. Ive made my own also.

Yes I as well have only seen the round hole on originals but thought that the picture with the "bell curve" shaped cutout was an interesting take on the traditional round hole.
The additional add on copper housing is nice if you want some light cast on your switch but have a switch without the molded in section for the light bulb. As many have pointed out on past threads, it wasn't a helluva lot of light cast on the switch even when new and working perfectly.
Enjoy your turkey today.
