Anyone ever mounted Hooker, or other similar sidepipes, the way factory pipes are mounted? Seems like any vibration from the pipes would be better isolated from the bottom mount.
Excellent! What did you use for mounts? Did you cut off the forward most mount tab on the side tube? No keyhole slot there on my car. Got any more pics? What covers did you use?
Cool. I don't think sidepipes was an option in 64? Right now I am seeing what I can use. Factory kit is like $65 plus taxes and shipping. I am using some hardware from lowes and Energy suspension poly bushing. Well trying to use. It's not installed yet.
Just to follow up on this thread. I changed from the side frame mount locations to the bottom frame mount location like stock C2 pipes. Just using the rear most mount, removed the forward mount on the side pipes. The general car vibration or roughness I felt is gone.
When I put sidepipes on my '64 years ago I mocked them up and welded a bolt to the frame, rather than cut a slot, and used shock rubbers for isolation.
