Default Kick panel windlace

Can someone tell me how the edges of the wind lace are finished up
i bought them from Al knock several years ago and just installed the kick panels

should I have sewn the ends shut?
I could probably dye it
but I honestly don’t remember how they were when I took the car apart 8 years ago

I think they just get tucked under the dash end caps.

Why is it we always ask the question after cutting the part too short?

Hahaha right?
I built the kick panels ages ago with the chrome inserts and repaint
I thought I just copied what length they were

I didn't feel like going out to the garage and uncovering my 62, so I stole these images from Nolan Adams Restoration Guide Vol.1.

It doesn't need much to tuck under the dash pad end. Looks like you need less than an inch - how much is tucked under the seal plate? Enough to shift the windlace up some?

Before you tuck them, use a pair of needle nose, pliers to pull a chunk of the foam out, so that the vinyl will lay flat

Actually in my 58 it is the Daytona weave. Got it from Knoch and his matched up real well with the piece of original carpet I had.
