My 67 coupe leans ! "+ lower on the drivers side in the baack. . I have all new rubber bushing, the differental mounting cross piece is not crushed, the sombreros are ok shape. I turned the passenger side leaf spring 1/2" from the bottom but the drivers side nut had to be turned uo to 1-1/2"+ it was still not level after thisadjustmentel ....Do I need a new 7 leaf spring to correct this problem of mine.???
I didn't think shocks could hold up the rear end that much, But ca n check then...Thanks for the Idea.....Still wondeing how to know if rear spring is good??
Take a picture of your rear spring (like the picture below courtesy of Doug Amick)...is your spring "level" all the way across, or is one end lower than the other. These cars from the factory had slight differences side to side.
Shocks don't support the car unless you've got airshocks or the equivalent. But it's possible that one of them is not fully extending. If, after removing both shocks the car is still not level, you could try flipping the spring to definitively confirm it has lost strength on one side. I have to say, though, that seems unlikely to me.
It's possibly (and more likely to be) a sagged drivers side front coil.
I would jack it up dead center of the rear spring plate with something narrow and measure the front.
