I got a set of stainlees pipes and have been very happy. They have a nice rumble but not to loud as to not be able to talk. I can even hear the music from the radio with the top down at 60mph with an autosound deck and no amp. The left side would not match up so I had to put a slight bend in them to fit, but no real complaints.
They're more restrictive than the stock under-car system; they were Marketing-driven (LOVE those option profits), not Engineering-driven. :yesnod:
JohnZ, I have heard this from others also but have no annectdotal evidence to prove it. All I know for sure is that I love the sound of the chambered side exhaust pipes... :yesnod: :flag
My opinion on factory sidepipes, they look cool , they sound great, & without question they wiegh less than factory standard exhaust.........the opinions on more restrictive are hard to understand , unless someone can substatiate such via dyno tests or a magazine article , the factory side pipes are listed as off road .............& much less length exists between the ex manifold & exhaust tip .............my big/block has side exhaust & side exhaust is where its at.............................Woof Woof The Dog :steering:
Finally got the pipes on today (after finding another manifold for the left side!).
I am telling you guys... THEY SOUND GREAT! The 2.5's are a bit louder, but they have a deeper sound. That's what a BB is SUPPOSED to sound like!
To recap, I got the SS 2.5's with the full wrap. I am glad I went with the full wrap. I was contemplating going with a half or no wrap, but these ppipe sound good!
Let me know what you guys think when you get your on! :yesnod:  :yesnod: :iagree:  :steering:
