Side view mirror
What’s the process or trick to removing the drivers side view mirror from a 1962?
I need to remove the mirror to repair small dent in back of housing….

On my '64 there's a lockscrew ( I believe an allen?) near the base that allows the main mirror housing to be removed.
Mine are aftermarket though.

Here’s a shot of my ‘62.
There is a screw/bolt in the base.

If it has a snap ring holding in the glass, see the attached PDF for some tips.

Thanks for the info but unfortunately, my mirror does not have a snap ring holding it in. I believe it may be pressed. This is a 1962

Side mirror
The back is press fit around the mirror. I tried to separate the 2 pieces on my 1960 and it was a disaster.

John,
Unfortunately, I don't recall the size of the screw that I used to do that job.
I'm thinking it might have been a 4-40 as that's what I had on hand with the tap to go with it.
How large is the cross-sectional area of the top of the stud that was peened over?
