I own a 62, I've noticed that the fan belt comes dangerously close to the hose attached to the top side of the water pump. I worry that one day the fan belt will bore its way into the hose. Any experience with this? Any thoughts regarding this?
As requested, I have added some photos. You can see where I have "bandaged" the hose with an aluminum band. Its the original 340HP motor

You might have the wrong pulleys on your engine. The correct WP pulley has a very shallow cone which should place the fan belt nearly 2" away from the fitting on the pump.
Post some pictures of your pulleys and belts. You'll get a better answer than mine.
If the heater hose, and if you have a generator on the pass side as originally equipped, you may be missing the bracket that mounts under the generator to keep the hoses in position away from the belt.
Your generator appears to be the type used on a FI application, i.e. solid mounts. Is the Tachometer distributor driven? Edit... Just saw in your profile it's a dual four 245 hp?
More info than what you need but attached is a document outlining pulley alignment to verify your generator is set up properly. It also discusses the various generator brackets.
K. thanks. My engine is a 340 HP. It is my understanding that the pulley for this application has a deep groove to prevent the belt from riding out under acceleration. I will get some pics out. Good advice.

All three pulleys have a deep groove. As I indicated in posting #4, the water pump pulley has a shallow cone, the effect of which is to move the belt forward, away from the engine.
