Who uses what? I want to evaluate various head / cam / carburetor / header combinations for myself. Any recommendations as to which software package to buy? I have a new computer with lots of capability - So that is not a limitation.
i have engine analyzer v3 from performance trends and it does not do a bad job comparing one setup to another. if you are looking for true HP outputs you will need a more expensive program but if you do not have air flows for the intake system the expensive one will not do much more. having the true air flow from a air flow bench is needed to get accurate results. :chevy
:iagree: Performance Trends. Also have the Desk Top Dyno 2.8, but the Performance trends is far more inclusive and accurate from what I have built and tested.
I have dd dyno and also and an older version of perfromace trends engine analzyer 2.5,the ea25 program really helped me when i was building circle track motors .
I have Performance Trends Engine Analyzer 3.0 and Desktop Dyno 2000. For my motor combo at least they give the same results above 2500 RPM, some differences below that. DD 2000 is probably a little easier and user friendly (you will need to build the correct cam and head airflow files for your parts to get reasonable results), EA 3.0 has a few extra variables, such as more combinations of exhaust flow etc.
I've got Dyno2000 and it is easy, although is does not cover all the variables that well. Also, I have a $40 off offer if you order by the end of May. Let me know if you want to use it.
