I just finished my installation. It was bad enough with the body off, and a hoist to raise and lower the frame, and the differential on a rolling platform. I could not get the spring on without first mounting it on the dif (upside down), then installing the whole unit.
My hats off to you guys who have done it with the body on. Seems like it would be damn near impossible.
Next is the TA installation. I got the slotted shims held in by a big cotter.
A C3 book I have (Newton) shows the shims lying down, touching the crossmember. Seems like they might rattle that way. Any reason why they can't stand up? Also, the rails are single thickness there; double below where the holes would go.
