Forum performance?
Also, if you are running a windows machine, right click the "My Computer" icon and select System Properties. On the Advanced tab, click Performance Options and make sure that the Applications radio button is selected and that you have at least 500MB of paging specified.
Is your CPU at 100% when this occurs? In windows 2000 and XP, hit ctrl+alt+delete and go to task manager. If you select the performance tab it should show your CPU usage. Windows me and 98 have this function but it is buried in the OS and I can't remember how to get there. I suggest checking the windows help file for "processor usage" or "processor utilization" if you have windows 95,98, or ME.
If your CPU is pegged at 100% it may be the reason for the delay as the keystroke is queued due to the high demand on the processor.
Should this be the problem I would attribute it to some sort of applet or animation. In this case I would suggest uninstalling your browser(s) and reinstalling the latest versions - even if it's what you already have.
It cannot be your modem as all of the text is stored locally and sent via modem only when you hit post.
I'll be happy to help you out offline as my computer knowledge is as deep as your corvette knowledge. It would be a square trade :D
