Headliner
THANKS JIM

I have a 66 Coupe and am fortunate to have the original headliner in excellent overall condition but showing signs of typical sag of the vinyl from the padded paper backing. Rather then messing it up by trying to reglue it, I took it down and stored it. The headliner I replaced it with came from Ecklers and has the heavy plastic preformed backing to match the coupe roof shape. When comparing to the original, I noticed that the overall thickness was thinner - so I bought modern roof headliner foam - cut and glued it to the new headliner backing for an exact original thickness match - and placed it up in the roof - halo end first - and secured with all the mounting trim - no glue - it has been perfect for two years in the hottest of weather. I have a photo record of the whole process including detailed photos of both headliners. I am in Connecticut as well so would be happy to speak with you by phone of even help you put it in if the distance is not to far from you.
