A buddy has just bought a 61 from New York and has discovered that the entire frame is rusty and there is significant rust damage in the lower dogleg near the front spring mount on one side of the chassis.
I have not yet seen it for myself so can't tell how bad it is just yet.
My question is, does anyone make repair sections for this area on C-1's?
I've seen them for midyears and I've seen whole frames for C-1's but not repair sections apart from crossmembers.
Any info will be appreciated as my buddy's quite dissapointed.
Check out Corvette Central's catalog. http://www.corvettecentral.com. They list frame sections as well as whole frames. I think all the major suppliers list them, but they probably come from one supplier.
Vette Products of Michigan ( http://www.vetteproducts.net ) in Lake Orion, Michigan makes all the frame repair sections all the vendors sell, and they also make the complete reproduction C1 frames that Corvette Central sells.
