Default Suffix code HH

I get this as a 65 300 or 365 engine. Anyone know of this code on a 68 engine either 327 or 350? The block is 3914660 and the crank for this engine is 3911001 so it appears to be a 68 and not a 65 to me. My knowledge and data base is limited though.

In 1965, the HH code applied to the 365 HP option W/O AC and manual trans.

That's what I get. Someone has a 68 for sale with an HH code. There seems to be occasional odd ball engines with non-conforming codes but I'm confused by the 68 numbers and a HH code.

"HH" was also used for the 1969 model year and it was a 350ci, 300hp, 4Bbl, TH400 application for passenger cars. By the way in addition to 1965 Corvette applications, the "HH" code was also used for 1966-67 Corvettes (327ci, 300hp, 4Bbl, a/c, manual trans). So, if the casting indicates a 1968 calendar year, it is likely the 350ci passenger car application.

NCRS shows usage of the 4660 block in '68 as "unverified", and there was no "HH" suffix used in any '68 model year Chevrolet application.

I just picked up the same block today all the date codes are correct for a 1968 327 and has the HH suffix. However, some sites list the casting as a 1969 350. I haven’t pulled the pan to check the crank yet.

If it was cast in 68 and is truly an HH engine code, it is from a 1969 350-300hp, automatic passenger car.

I find a listing on https://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm that shows a 68 327.
