Another date code question
How close should the heads date be to the block. I have a Jan 11, 65 stamp on the front and a Jan 5, casted on the back but the heads are Feb and March 65. Obviously not original. They work fine but could use to be rebuilt at some point so I thought I would just keep an eye for a set that are closer to the other dates an rebuild those.

The casting dates on original heads can be anywhere from a day to several weeks prior to the stamped engine assembly date as the "norm"; NCRS allows up to six months prior to the car's final assembly date for dated components, but obviously, casting dates must precede the engine assembly stamped date.
