Sorry if this is a stupid question, but can't figure out how to install the antenna on my 64. Hope I don't have to drop the muffler?

The ground plane goes on top of the antenna cable and if you have really long arms, you can feed it up through the hole in the top of the fender. Failing that, wrap a small diameter wire around the threaded portion of the cable and with assistance, pull it through the hole and secure with the antenna nut. I think you can also pass the antenna mast through the hole and screw it on to the cable, then pull it through the hole. It is tight, but doable without removing the muffler.

I had to take out the antenna on my 65 and the muffler had to be dropped or at least take the rear muffler hanger off to let the muffler hand to the ground. You still need long arms.
