I know this will sound very amature... but I tried to unscrew the screw that holds the tension on the sunvisor where the little rod goes through, and it has a goofy little back thingy that keeps the screw from un-screwing. is there a tool needed to take the old visors apart and replace the rod and screws?
There probably is, there's usually a tool for most everything!! However, I usually hold mine using the pointed end of a small pair of needle-nosed pliers, doesn't take much to hold it, and lots of times you can hold it well enough with only your finger!!
I'll try that again. Mine is really old and kind of rusted together and stripped...thats why it keeps falling down when I need it up and out of the way. The screw turns...it just wont back off of the tab thingy.
I'll spend more time next time and see if I can do it.
thanks, I knew there was a tool, there is always another tool I have to buy.
thanks again for the answer.
Don't have to buy it if you don't want to. Take an old screwdriver and file out the center so that the outer edges catch the slots in the special nuts on your sunvisor. Not that hard to do!!
