Default "Born On Date"

You see this so much on TV about beer it reminds me......

How do you tell when your car came off the assembly line?

I've heard of people knowing this, but if you weren't there, how do you tell? Can you do it by the VIN# ????

Let's try mine ...VIN # 194675S123034

How would you tell the date by that, or is it even possible?

65nassau - since your ride appears to be a 1965, the link Wayne gave you shows your baby's birthday to be AUGUST 24, 1964

Using the ncrs site I received an april 15/65 build day. I assumed/guessed my car would be earlier. I'm glad to see the April 65 date though. I just finished a February build date L-79 long block. Could this be within the "numbers match" window? Here's hoping.

I think that's in the window with one eyebrow raised. My engine is 7 days older than my car.

The numbers matching criteria has to be no more than 6 months prior to the build date. The build date they use is the one provided by this web site http://www.ncrswi.bizland.com/wi_ncrs/bdaycalc.htm

July 26, 65 would be correct. Your supposed to put in the last 5 digits. The last 4 gives you the August date.

Use the last 5 digits of your serial number, not the last 4 as per the instructions.
Using the last 5, I get 4/30/65 (correct)
using the last 4, I get 1/11/65 (incorrect)

Wow, what a spread of dates! 8/24... 1/11... 4/30... 7/26...

So what IS the correct estimated build date? I got July 26 '65 with the NCRS Wisconsin Chapter online tool, and my NCRS pocket guide puts it in that same timeframe (about a week before the end of July), so I'd say 7/26 is the best estimate.

7/26/65 IS the correct date for 65nassau; if you enter the VIN correctly (last five digits, as the instructions tell you), you'll get that date, and it matches with the NCRS "Birthday Book" as well.
