Tons of power and it's all new inside and out!
Will look forward to your impressions after a warmer weather run.

In searching for a replacement engine (I really want the performance) I found the CORRECT block and heads to be outrageously priced ($8,000.00 for the block and heads alone) before starting to build the engine. In my searching a friend of mine (who runs a machine shop) came accross a LS6 454 Hi-Performance engine with 391840 heads (used on 67,68,& 69 L71 engines). This engine is complete except for the intake manifold (I can use my present setup). The information we have is that it was a strong runner prior to being pulled. I can purchase this engine for $3,500.00.

My question is, is this a fair price for this engine? If I purchase it I am planning on having it opened up to check for the need to freshening it up with at least a valve job and possibly bearings and rings. What do you guys think? Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Roy
LS6 is a 454 ci engine and all 454`s are for open chamber heads. The 427 closed chamber "840" heads may interfer with the correct higher compression LS6`s pistons unless they are low compression flat tops.
