Default I think I am ready to buy, wheels, need last minute advice!?

Ok, I think I have decided to quit being a wuss and get the wheels I have been wanting for over a year. I cant afford the Boyd F22's that I really want, but for the price difference, a very close second has for the longest time has been the Boyd Smoothie IIs. Here is what I need, (compiled with the input of all you guys) so please make any suggestions and corrections.

I am going with 18 x 8, front & back, with 4" BS (no flares or offset ta's)

Tires, either (suggest one ore the other?):
Kumho Ecsta Supra High Performance 245/40WR18 @ $179 ea
Nitto NT555 Extreme Performance 245/40ZR18 @ $163 ea
I like that the Z rated is cheaper, but will it wear out faster?

I really want 255/40's on the rear, but I cant find any that also come in a 245/40 for the front. I surely dont want mismatched tires, any suggestions? Will 255/40's fit on the front, or will they rub?

I also considered going with 17 x 8 on the front as opposed to 18's, as this will help with putting a little smaller tire on the front. One thing is that I'm not too sure if I'd like it or not. I have not seen many 'big-little', and am having trouble making the call.

I never knew this was so hard. I guess when your car is driving you to the poor house, there's no room for order errors.

Also, I will probably be ordering these from Newstalgia Wheels.

Thanks in advance

I'd go with the Kumhos. The 17s in that size will fit with the proper offset. I am not sure about the 18s.

I have 17's from Intro they are custom made to fit your car so backspacing is not a problem, they have a guy that is very familiar with Vetts and if they don't fit you send them back no questions ask. I also have Nitto tires but I went with the 440's. I had a fitment problem with 245/50/17's on the front they rubbed the tie rod at full turn, Hvydeez were I ordered them from took the 245's back and sent me 225/50/17's for the front and paid for the remounting and sent UPS to pick up the 245's, so no cost to me, just my time. I have no experience with 18's but I would think they would be the same.

Tires wearing out faster is based on tread wear rating...the lower the number, the softer the tire. I'm running Nitto 555 with 300treadwear rating. Parellis and Goodyears are like 280 or something, but I don't like the measurements on either tire for 255/45zr17, so I went with Nittos. Doesn't really matter. I just burn them off anyways.
255/40s will fit your fronts in either 18 or 17, but on 18s, they might rub the frame on full lock, but not that much of a problem as long as you keep 4" bs.
