Speed warning/shift indicator ?

Speed warning/shift indicator ?
I've read before that some C3s had "speed warnings". Not sure what it was or even if my Vette has it - or if what I red was just a bunch of rocks. Anyone heard of it? If so, what exactly was it. more of a shift indicator or something? Mine kind of screeches at/around 5k RPM, but I just figured it was the belt slipping. Could that be a "warning" of some kind?

I think the real "speed warning" (not counting police sirens) was an option on the early C3's that would buzz when you hit a speed that you preset. My car doesn't have it and don't have my black book handy to figure out how many did.

looks like it was an option on the 67, 68, 69 vettes. Something on the speedometer itself.

You learn something new every day. I need to get the Vette black book. I guess what I hear on mine that I originally thought may have been a rev-warning really is my fanbelt just screeching
