Default 68-69 vs 70-72

Which is more sought after or more popular 68-69 or 70-72 body?

I love both one minute I'll see a 68-69 and be drooling and say I don't like the flared cars as much then I'll see a 72 someone painted black and I love that too.....

which do you perfer and be honest and which would you say brings more $ and is more sought after?

Like I said it's a toss up with me and thas my honest op just curious about what you guys think about it.

The 69 is probably the most sought after of the models. The most valuable is probably the 69s with the big blocks. L88s and the ZL1 are outragous pricing. I prefer the 70-72 cars, I like the flares myself.

wadda you mean with flares? I cant really see any difference apart from the mudflaps?

I like the 68-69 better because of the sidegrille.

They made way less 1970 models....and so I feel proud to have just purchased a 1970.........a much rarer car.....but then again I am now biased just liked the rest of these comments, the main point is just get what YOU like the most isn't it?
Having said all that I was actually looking for a 69 (for various reasons), however this one came up and I couldn't pass (I was becoming a little impatient after looking for over a year).
The fender flares are a bonus.

68-72 are alllll so cool.

Stay cool,
cosmicvette

While I'm partial, find a 68-72 in good shape for the right price and enjoy. Good luck!

I've had both and there are features about both I like...really dug the flares on the '70 but prefer the side gills on the '69. Either way, a chrome bumper shark is a chrome bumper shark and they're all good as far as I'm concerned .

I dont know which one is more of a collector item, but I like the 70-72 models. I like the rectangular exhaust over the round ones on the 68-69, and I like the egg-crate grills over the vertical slats on the side.

I hate to sound like an idiot (but I'm used to it!). Can someone post a couple pictures that clearly illustrate the difference of the flared fenders?

I've about decided as long as it's got chrome bumpers I don't care either because I like the looks of the 68-69s maybe a TAD more but the 70-72s are also hot cars, there not different enough for me to pick one year to seek really although I do like the key on the dash and wood teak wheel on the 68's.

Default 1969 was the highest production for the C-3's

1970 had the lowest in production.

Also 1968 you could get a 327 a clean one with no hoses or junk but just a plain clean motor with one fan belt.

I would absolutely buy any of the chrome bumper cars, but I could narrow it down by 1 by eliminating the 68. Ive just heard that there were alot of problems with the 68. The 69 i hear has most of the kinks worked out. Can you experts step up and agree or deny so i'm properly edumacated?

Any mechanical type problems that the 68 might have had have been taken care of by know. The only issue I would have with the 68, is that there are a lot of "one of parts" on the car. This makes it a bit more expensive restoring and harder locating some parts.

They are all great looking, so just get the best condition vs. cost and go with it.

Whoever says "say away from a '68" is ill informed or just moronic. The ONLY drawback a '68 has is hard to find parts and that is only the case if you want to be 100% correct, other wise any '69-'72 part will fit. Believe it or not I've had more problems with tyhe '69's we've owned than the '68. Believe me in 35yrs most owners have upgraded their cars.

Any C3 works for me, but my heart lies w/ the '68-'72 yrs.
