Default 350 Hood Emblems Pics

Here are some pics of my new 350 hood emblems. If it was up to me, in '69 all small blocks would have had what we commonly call the "big block hood," and all big blocks should have been outfitted with L-88 hoods. And the L-88s in turn should have had something different from them all. Just my opinion.

Yeah they're the "you-have-one-chance-to-get-it-right" stick-ons. I think I may be a little off from the "427" stock location but at least they're straight.

Thanks.

Looks good. Where did you come up with those?

You would not believe the number of people ask me if mine is an LT-1. Of course I always have to tell them it is not. Last weekend a guy was telling me he had a 71 convertible LT-1 with AC. He even showed me his car. I didn't have the heart to tell he was wrong. It even had power steering and power brakes.

I got them from Corvette America; they were the only ones that I could find who had all the numbers 0-9, not just 4, 2, and 7. When I got the car the previous owner had put the big block hood on; I liked how it looked but was so used to seeing emblems on these hoods that it looked empty. But it's all just temporary until I can swing a big block conversion. Hehe.

Joe, Those BB hoods sure compliment the lines of the C3. Your badges look Trimparts.com is the primary supplier of the 427/454 style numbers and has them 0-9. Probably supplies Corvette America, but charges just as much

Just wondering if you know how to remove those "you-have-one-chance-to-get-it-right" stick-ons. My '77 is currently being filmed in a movie called Naked Terror--and they stuck "454" emblems on the hood--it has that black glue tape on it. I want to get them off when they're done and get the numbers you got--only my 'vette has a 355 in it.

it's still a 350

what you do is you pull them off carefully, then rub them off the best you can with wax/grease remover

I'd ditto the wax/grease remover idea. I know I'll have to do this at some point too.

Drag fishing line under it to brake the seal of the glue.

Dental floss works, too.

Chances are good that it's a 3M adhesive. Guess what? 3M also makes an adhesive REMOVER! You'll find it at better parts stores or body shops.

you should be able to wiggle them off, in a twisting motion, then use your thumb and roll the adhesive off. it is a little bit hard on your thumbs. But It is easy and Cheap, you wont have to buy anything, but a little wax afterwards.

Good Luck. Larry

I'm gonna try it next month--I just don't want a chunk of paint coming off the hood! I thought about gentle heating with a blow dryer.
