Well I tried to rebuild 2 Q-jet, the first one ended up with a vacuum leak, and the second, a fuel leak which is comming from the accelerator pump.
Vacuum leak........who know where that's comming from.
Fuel leak I think the float bowl it set to high and I'm not exactly sure the proper way to adjust it, either that or I'm just to fricken tired or fed up.
Maybe it's time for me to throw in the towel and try to find someone in the Toronto area to rebuild it for me. This car is taking the life out of me. I need a break.
For all of you that have succeeded in the rebuid, my compliments, and as for Lars.......I've never met or spoken to you, and I don't know how, but you have a gift.
Thanks for the reply 72GACRZR, unfortunately I believe Lars lives somewhere in Colorado, and that's a bit of a comute for me in Toronto, Ontario. I'm almost at the point that I can take it off the blocks after over 15 years but I just won't idle at all. " So close yet so far "
Thanks for the reply 72GACRZR, unfortunately I believe Lars lives somewhere in Colorado
I believe you can ship it to him and he will rebuild it and ship it back. Not sure if he is still doing it tho or what the turn around time is. I need mine done too.
It's just too frustrating and I think maybe I need a break re this carb. I've spent way to much time on it with VERY little results. The 4 SALE sign would have been more cost effective.
Lars has a loaner carb program. He has several for many C3 configurations. And it's a *Freebie* (except for postage). That will give you a break. Try sending him an email...he's the carb guru (in his spare time)...
Are you serious, I don't know if I can ask for a loaner. Thanks for the info page62, I have no problem paying for one it's just that I have no one to blame but myself. I thought I would try to tackle it but to no avail. It's my loss. Guess the ol 75 will have to stay in storage awhile longer, I've waited 15 years so far....You know I was so close yet so far... I keep hearing myself say that..........Not Good.
Theres a guy I know down here in the Woodstock london area of ontario that rebuilds them for alot of the stock car racers around here he did mine and it worked good. His name is Jake but you can call Brad at 519-485-1646 and tell him you got his name from me Steve Ross and that I mentioned Jake for rebuilding qjets and you my be able to ship it over and get it done or drive it down. Hope this helps
