Tell me you picked up the ireplaceable stainless piece of trim that goes across the front of the top. The top I got for $200.00 was also a fly-off, but it fared better than yours. Mine was missing the trim when I got it...

the trim is still there, but bent badly where the top hit the ground... I'm surprised that it held together that well considering that the speed was over 100 mph when it came off!!

exactly! You might want to think about your entire car's aerodynamics at 130 mph or so!! What about that wing? Purely cosmetic at highway speed, but what does it do at 130???

I had the car up to 165 mph on the highway once and it was still accelerating hard when I left off... so aerodynamic is not a major concern...

sucks about the top, but with the damage to the rearend, this makes a great excuse to get it painted!

No intentions of getting the car re-painted.. All the $ goes into performance.... I'll try to get some touchup paint and try to cover up some of the damaged area..

why do you need the hard top to race? Seems like not having the couple hundred pounds on there would help your times.

The top is required below 11.50 (NHRA rules)
It's not too heavy.. (Maybe 40 lbs or so)

Just attached the hardtop with 2 bolts which are bolted to the 2 holes where the pins from the top usually attach. I also used duct tape to prevent air from getting between the windshield and the top...

That should hold up... at least I hope so...

Well that ones a goner. I wouldn't try my luck again with that top on the track. Looks like you'll really grab some air now with that front header fit.
