I'm thinking in just keeping it the way it is, just securing it with Grade 8 bolts so that it won't fly off again... I only use it at the track anyways.. so it doesn't really matter how it looks...
Wow how far did that thing travel down the track? Glad your OK and you got a new best out of the motor. Bolt that thing on and get down here, gates open at 4:30 Bob

Just curious Olivier: Do you wear the hartop at the track for aerodynamic reasons or is it required?? Seems like you would loose some weight by running with it off??

it's required
Don't know how much those things weigh, but it'd definitely be some weight off the car running with it off
The top is required if I'm running below 11.50. I could run the soft top below that...
When I'm running 10's, I'll also have to install the transmission blanket.. The weight of my top is about 40 lbs, but the weight reduction will cost you more in aerodynamic loss than the lower weight without it. Running topless is usually a .2 slower ET...

O - You probably know this already, but hardtop flyoff is a fairly common problem. You often see guys duct tape the front edge at the top of the windshield to prevent air from getting in there and ripping off the top. It looks silly because people think you are trying to hold your top on the car with duct tape, but they are actually preventing airflow from getting between the hardtop and the top of the windshield.

I raced for 3 years with no issues with the hardtop.. However, the car was never that fast before
