HI; I'm asking for a friend who has an original finish 82CE. What is the paint? Lacquer, enamel, two stage, clear? He's looking to clean and wax with a wheel and isn't sure what he should use based upon paint material. Thanks, Frank

If it is the stock paint I believe it is base coat / clear coat, 82 was supposed to be the first year they used this paint, you can put some rubbing compound on a clean white rag and rub a small area on the car, if the rag turns the color of the car it is not clear coated.
