Im from melbourne australia.
Just baught a 1981 corvette.. red .. 4 speed. Targa top..
Ive allways loved these things since i was young... i my self have owned a few quick cars in the passed... nissan skyline ... Holden Vl turbo.( use probly have no idea what that is but still ). that has actually run a flat 10 sec pass..
now im struggling to come to a conclusion. should i keep the vette full original or work the living fark out of it :-)
thanks for that mate..
yes i must get some pics up asap.
So you think i work the bugger huh ahahaha any suggestions. whats the go with these in the US.. i was thinking perhaps 383 stroker .. or even slamming a 454 big block in it :-)
i have even read that a decent twin turbo set up would be fun on these as well :-) but im over turbos.. dont wanna fark around with them any more.
More HP workes for me. I have an 81 also and have owned a Nissan 200SX with a late model skyline turbo engine that was really fun to drive and fast. Now the 81 is not as fast but she really turns heads.
Welcolme to the forum.
Welcom from the USA Louisiana to be exact. You can see what I've done to mine in my sig, to hell with stock . I did keep all the original parts, including engine, transmission, etc.. Stock it had trouble keeping up with a Honda, now I'll give a Viper or C-5 a run for their money. Good luck with what ever path you choose and have fun
so its settled..
im goin for the HP then lol
what would be the first few steps to make these things moves..
what suggestions can u make. havnt really worked with a V8 b4
should i just go with the stroker rite away or is there other way sto get some power out of them still keeping the original motor and internals?
VL Turbo...................the only good commodore ever made and that was only because it had a nissan engine too bad the old RB30 didn't get the DOHC head, would have been nice with an RB26DETT slotted in, or even the RB26DETT head mated to the 3 litre bottom end now that would pull. How sad Holden didn't get the idea that the turbo was the way to go instead of back to the buick V6 that wasn't even a shade on the RB30, even with the supercharged version.
