I've had my 68 for about 7 months now, and I'm finally starting to get some work done on it. I'm trying to figure out what intake is currently on the car. It's an Edelbrock, and has T M-1 on cast on it. Also, it says Patent Pending on it, below the coil. I beleive that it is from the mid-70's.
Is this an old Torker, or a Tarantula? I'll have the manifold off this weekend. Should there be a number stamped on the bottom that will help ID the model? If so, what numbers correspond to each model?
They made both for SB engines. These are both single plane open plenum manifolds designed to flow best high RPM. Easy way to tell 'em apart is the carb mount. Torker mount is square to the mounting flange, and the Tarantula is "twisted", or at an angle.

Thanks for the clarification. So, I guess I have a Torker. This is really not the best intake for street use, correct? I should be using something closer to idle-5500?
