This Forum has been a great source of free entertainment and a fountain of knowledge for more than 5 years!

Long ago, Troy pledged to keep it free and he has not gone back on his word

Nor is he now! But with growth comes the need for additional resources!

Please check out the topic at the head of each section on the Forum and consider adding some stars to your sig

The information on this forum is priceless but I would hope that Troy and the forum got a part of the $15,000 I spent with supporting vendors! And the $52,000 my buddy just spent on new C6 with one as well.

We support the vendors and the vendors in turn support the forum.

I'm seriously thinking about it. As much money I've saved using the forum over the years I think I can cough up $100 to $200 to keep tis great site open to everyone. Troy keep a lookout for my check (as soon as the boss signs off on the idea of course).

One thing to keep in mind is that some of the vendors also offer discounts and group purchases to the membership. As the cost to keep this forum goes up, the funds have to come somewhere. There may be a time when a vendor decides that due to the rising cost they decide it's best to drop out. Then the cost to the other vendors goes even higher and more drop out; essentially a snowball effect. I would rather see some effort by the members so that the vendors have more available funds to run their specials. Shortly after joining, DeWitt's had a GP which saved me close to $100. Dan from Van Steel provides free shipping. I felt bad on my first order with him because it was a $20 order and he ate $6 or so in shipping. He never said a word. I have recently ordered mot items from them. Good people are not the easiest thing to find.
The additional money will not only help the forum as it is today but also make it easier for Troy to invest/spend to make it better and faster.
I would think he thought long and hard before coming up with the special memberships. It's not for everyone, but I sure would like to see the membership stand behind the forum. I belong to other forums as well. None of them have 1/50 the amount of threads as this one.

Here is a list of the top forums showing where this forum stands in regards to the number of posts, http://rankings.big-boards.com/?sort=week . It may put in perspective the amount of posts that is has.

There appears to be a "glitch" in those numbers. Re-sort by "posts" vs. "posts last week" and we fall from 1 to 24. Even counting GrandSportC3's posts, there's no way we generated 9 million posts last week!

Regardless of the "statistics"...it's a bizzy site!

Some of us members that live out side the USA will have a difficult time to become a "supporting member" due to purchasing a bank draft with out an invoice or using foreigner negative Pay pal.

I know there are many of us overseas members that have spent tons on supporting vendor’s goods and services with out a problem.
For one I would gladly contribute if I could.
Long live the CF

I have to agree with you on the number of 'post last week'. I went back there, looked, and said no way could that be. However, it is a busy forum.

I have been giving some serious thought to ponying up the Lifetime Gold. I have learned at least that much or more off of you guys that I would never have been able to do if it were not for this place. It is the greatest corvette book of knowledge out there.

The forum has saved me both time and money. Plus you guys make me appear less of an idiot to my wife.

I could see some of the new guys being skeptical and feel like they're getting screwed.

For the ol' timers, it should be a no brainer. Plus I need the photo storage space.

I just paid up. I've been a "member" here for 5+ years. Have learned a lot, and hope I've helped any number of other members over the years.

I want to become a supporting member, but I have a question... looking at what the forum has set in place (see below),if I become just a lifetime supporting member now, can I "upgrade" to gold status later and will it be just an additional $100 ?

Supporting Member - $25 per year
Lifetime Supporting - $100 one time payment
Gold Member - $50 per year
Lifetime Gold - $200 one time payment

I just ordered a new road bicycle (helps keep the lbs of when not wrenching in the garage ) so I took a pretty big hit and can't do the Lifetime Gold right away

I've made many new friends and have also learned much since being here.

I gave it some thought last night and decided to do it this morning. I am now an official Lifetime Member. I have been here since near the beginning and use the webspace quite a bit.

I'm not sure who 'we' are. Not every member buys everything from the supporting vendors. There are a lot of vette part suppliers who are not on the forum and get business thrown their way becuase of the forum. As stated before, I would rather see the vendors pay less and offer more discounts, specials, group purchases, etc. In the long run the members would recoup their their membership fee. It would also drive the traffic to the vendor who has a special.

I did it because I have learned a lot from the forum and I don't have a lot to offer as far as useful information. I don't do mods at all and spend very little on parts. It's my way of supporting the forum directly. I enjoy it a lot and spend a lot of time here.

I haven't made much in the way of contributions lately but have taken out a great deal since 1999. So I am happy to support the Forum.

I sold my engine and trans on the C3 Parts section and have gotten a ton of advice and information (as well as a large amount of fun!) from the forum. What the heck...a pizza cost as much as $25. I need the forum more than a pizza
