Just thought I'd share my first interesting ride in my new C3...I'm sure others of you out there have had similar fun. Took my 72 LT-1 out for a spin on a cloudy day (first mistake). Hadn't rained all day, so I figured what are the odds. Well, sure enough, just as I was heading home, I hopped on I-75 and suddenly, the heaven's opened up. Oh and to make it more fun - I had the back window out (tops on though) and there was some nasty traffic as I entered onto the I. At least the wipers worked! Unfortunately, I found out she doesn't like water (found my free leak that came with the Vette) or stop and go traffic. For whatever reason, she continued to stall on me every time I came out of first or second and was slowing to a stop, but fortunately, started up on the first try each time. Happened about 10-12 times, and it was luckily a short ride to my exit. Once I was out of the stop and go, everything ran great. Guess it could have gotten uglier, but I learned my lesson about weather and maybe need to get my Holley carb looked at again....

Last time I had mine out I had to nurse it around the whole trip and we were with 24 other vettes. Talk about embarrasing. When it was all over and we were on teh way home, I ran it up through 2nd and 3rd gears, lo and behold it decides to straighten up and purrs like a kitten. Go figure. Yeah these cars can be aggrivation, but to me its just part of it.
In the same boat . . .
latest stage in the saga:
coupla weeks ago, noticed a clunking sound from the rear end, from the left side--you know, the one with the mismatched u-joints and the strange fiberglass patch on the underside of the battery box (gee, wonder what happened there . . .). Fine, i pulled out the halfshaft last Thursday, replaced both u-joints, got it back on the road. Next night (last Friday) took it out for the evening, tooling around some nice windy roads, when i hit the brakes and BANG something metal breaks under the car. I limped home and got under the car, only to discover the bushings have jumped out of right front lower control arm. Best guess is that the bolts in either end sheared off. . . .
. . . . this from a car that didn't make it home when i drove it off the lot . . .
