state trooper got me on a bypass highway while letting it loose a little bit. 74 in a 55, my first speeding ticket in 11 years! oh well...nothing the DA wont reduce in court or get a PFJ.
one thing that bothered me about the experience, with the speeding, guilty definitely...but he gave me a ticket for no inspection on a 36 year old car in a state that doesnt require them for cars 35 plus years old(25 for emissions,35 and younger for safety)
I pointed out the rule to him as told to me by the DMV the day i registered the car but got a ticket anyway. he should know the rules he is enforcing IMO(I called dmv today and they are sending me a letter with the statutes to back this up in court)
anyway...at least he complimented the car
Welcome to Raleigh..... I take it you were on 540...If you don't get the new code email me I have the website where I researched it... The law went into effect 31OCT04... Originally it was to go in effect 01JAN05 for somereason it got passed early.. One problem though the inspection stations are stating that any vehicle over 35 years of age no longer require inspection but the law specifies that it has to be registered as a Historic vehicle running the correct plates... Now there is wiggle room in the laws pertaining to this bill.. If the vehicle is over 35 years in NC you can run YOM and this can be considered Historic plates if you read into the laws.... Dave...
Only got one back in 1982 .65 in a 55 in the middle of the desert on CA hwy 78,no other cars going either way.All of a sudden, there is a CHP red lights and all,in my mirror !
He must have jumped out from behind a cactus.Gave me a ticket and said my wear bars were showing on my rear tires.Yep.Guilty.
I definitely deserved the speeding ticket...glad he didnt see me 10 seconds sooner
4 lane road with noone in sight- just had the urge to drop the hammer for a few seconds. I rarely speed though and havent gotten a speeding ticket in over a decade.
no it was a state trooper suprisingly...always see those pt cruiser or jeep cops on the bypass and i should have known better lol. next time its out avent ferry or something in the country when it is time to drop the hammer
I often see 4+ Holly Springs cops just on my way out of town, it's really ridiculous, plus there's that firearm training place around there too.
I think I've gotten 6 tickets now? 4 with the Vette, plus one red light :o I still contend it was orange. All but one of the tickets were exactly 15mph over.
...nothing the DA wont reduce in court or get a PFJ.
:
okay, for what it's worth, my last ticket was in TN, for 70/55 (guilty as charged), and the DA, after not returning my phone calls and then giving me the wrong court date (cost me a day off work), told me if i go to driver's school and pay costs, she'll drop it . . ."costs" are more than the fine, plus the cost of the school . . .
. . . and, oh, by the way, I'M A D.A.
. . . so much for professional courtesy, a little baseline professionalism would do. . .
Recieved a ticket in the mail this week. We have camera speed traps. I was doing (alledged) 65 in a 60 Zone. thats Kilometres per hour!
Translates to 40mph in a 37mph zone. $128 and one point off my licence.
The speedo is not that accurate
Australian design rules specify the speedo has to be within 10% and the "allowance" is 3% by the cops. You can't win.
