... moved the TH350 forward a bit... longer driveshaft...
What do you think so far??
Too cool! Thanks for posting the pictures.
So the TH350 will bolt right up to the LS1? Same bolt pattern?
How about the flex plate?
Why did you have to move the transmission forward? Was there not room to move the engine back to the transmission?
I ended up extending my PS control ram down 1" and it clears the pan. Hoses are a no brainer. You can probably drop in a C-4 driveshaft. I think they measure 30" to 32".
Not sure about the C4 drive shaft... I have taken mine to be lengthened...
I am using the factory C5 power steering and F-body pulley system, having to make a new Pressure hose for the steering rack... YES MY FACTORY RACK NEEDED TO LOWERED.
*** Special THANKS to the Vette Dr. Mike Norris ***
They are doing the work.
Way to go man! Let me know when I can come see it. I saw you on the road in the SS a couple weeks back. If you noticed a black 77 on EE Williams it was me. What did you do with the original exhaust? I need to do headers and Y pipe next. I have major exhaust leakage right now.
Cool project. I had been thinking that the carbed intake would work alot better than injection in a C3. Now put an L88 hood on it and you will actually be able to get some cold air to that hot engine.
Holley505: I am pondering roughly the same project, but an LS6 aluminum block with a 200R4 out back. Were there any major problems you had with the existing chassis/frame? Did you need to relocate the motor mounts?
On a different note, I have a set of hooker headers/sidepipes that I would like to continue using. Anoyone know if those will bolt directly on to the LS6 (Vortec?) heads? Does anyone currently use the steeriods manual rack & pinion? If so, do you like it?
