Default New trailing arms

The trailing arms came back from Vansteel and WOOOOW. They are on and what a project. I finally know how a Corvette is supposed to handle. Everything on the suspension front to back is better than when it was new. This is the most fun I have had in 3 years driving this car. I think I just might keep it now. If any one out there is planning to do this you really need a torch to cut the bolts that hold the trailing arm to the body. I tryied a recipicating saw and 10 blades later it still had not cut though the bolt. If anyone has any questions on what not to do just ask I have been there. Thanks to all the good people that had suggestions that I read to lead me to doing this project my self. Well these are for you.

what did the rebuild cost? Also is there any thing to look for to make sure my arms are good before I send them? Im in the Bahamas and its a real bit8h to send anything from here to the U.S. I have to send mine to Van Steel in the next week or 2 and would like to save the hassle of sending arms that are shot. Im going to sand blast them in the next day or so to get a better look at them. I agree with using a torch to get them out. It took me 30 blades to get mine cut.

There are a couple different options. If you want yours rebuilt w/Steel Parking Brake Hardware, relined shoes and cut & clean your rotor, it's $296.99 per side. If you want a new rotor, SS hardware and new shoes, it $389.99 per side. Since you are out of the country, we'll give you 10% off your order.

Ill need new rotors and calipers with stainless sleeves too. Also better go with stainless hardware. Ill give you guys a call in the next couple of weeks when I can scrap up the cash. The arms are pretty rusty so Ill sand blast them this weekend and make sure they look solid. Oh forgot to mention I had to cut the castle nut off the back of the spline shaft because it had been welded on so I will need a new shaft for one side.

Default trailing arms

My trailing arms were rusted out. The right one was real bad. I had new rotors, off set trailing arms, SS parking brake, ajustable struts, and new shock mounts. The total was a little over $1,400. That soiunds like a lot but I had nothing to send to Van Steel but spindals and bearing housings.
The best part was We just took a trip to Lake Erie about 250 miles round trip. This was the most fun I have had sinse I have owned the vette. There was no traffiic just the back roads. Nice day and woow. Thanks again Van Steel.
Now for the new problem. When I stop in a straight line and take off everything is fine, but if I turn a little left or right there is a cluncking sound when you take off. It stops after just a few feet.
1 Could this be no additive in the rear end oil?? (The rear end has been worked on befor I got it. There was fresh sealant around the housing.)
2 A brake grabing ??
I am lost with this one it only happens when you get a bout 30 miles or better on it. If you let it cool down it does not do it till it warms up again.
Any one with any ideas??
