That's the unfinished site I'm working on, it will be the actual site (the stuff that you see when going to http://www.big632.com is temporary so that there's actually something to see)
For the "new" site, a few points of attention...the menu bar/system is still junk..it will get far more advanced 9this is jsut slapped in there to test the navigation & transitions). The "categories" are bunk also (as are the background pics..just slapped them in there to see what the animations look like)
Tell me what you think and especially what you hate (I know some people hate pop up windows, I'll most likely have a workaround for that but it's temporary since the page otherwise is not completely visible for people running low resolutions 1024x768 and smaller or those who use a lot of toolbars in their browser window)..but don't critisize too much LOL, this stuff is a lot of work (especially when doing it all by yourself)
...oh, and this stuff is bandwidth abusive so don't try to open it on a dial up unless you have a lot of patience
The only thing more annoying than pop-up windows are sites that pop-up and expand to cover your entire desktop. I understand about desktop res and why you're doing it.. but I think that means you need to re-consider your design. Most people run 800x600, not 1024x768 or higher. That's changing with LCD monitors becoming more popular, but it's still the norm. I run 1280x1024 and my IE windows are somewhere around 1024x768. A window that pops up and does what you have programmed right now is just asking me to close it.
As for the menu, as said..it's just a temporary thing slapped in there..
As for resolution, the majority of the users run 1024x768, not 800x600...those times are long gone. I whipped up the pop up rather quickly, I just changed it so you still see your task bar and an address bar.

Cool. Just an observation,as you are still working on it,the "Gallery Navigation" box says "close",but works like a slide presentation....when you click "close".???
The popup tooltip? If you click close the tooltip will close. it only appears the 1st time you open a gallery, when you close the tooltip (or close the gallery, the tooltip then also closes) it won't appear again. If you click on it and the gallery jumps to the next picture then uou are not clicking on the close button (maybe i should make it a tad larger ... this is why i wanted the feedback)

the only time i use 800x600 is when i first install windows and that only last about 10 seconds and then it is set to 1280x1024 which is the max taht my lcd will let me go. if i could go 1600x1200 i would but like i said my monitor will only do 1280x1024. oh yea and btw i like the web site TT as usual your work is always top notch
tutle, what resolution? Still working on a larger font size for those < 1024x768, the larger resolutions should be able to read it (just changed the movie to expand as big as it can, the whole thing is larger now)

The new window is less invasive in my opinion, delivers less immediate negative impact from the "oh **** another popup site." I based my 800x600 comment on what several web designers I'm good friends with have told me. I know that people are finally waking up to the benefits of those "small" icons but I also know there are tons of people like my dad that think 1024x768 is "small" on a 17" monitor.
It will have a resolution detection...so it will load different sized pages so that on those smaller resolutions the text can actually be read. It will do that automatically, I hate it when you have to manually select your resultion (and the script to automatically detect it and reroute to the appropriate site is very easy)..hold on
Dead aim eh LOL... I'll make the button a bit bigger
