Have you replaced the old 2-1-2 exhaust system with true duals. If you haven't then buying and fitting headers to fit the stock system is a waste of money. Going true duals is one of the best cheap HP gains you will get.
there are no bolt in replacement headers that i know of . have looked for long and short headers .the short headers have more ground clearance but the long headers are supose to be better for performance .dynomax has the best price on headers that are jet hot coated .but if you can wait edelbrock has a new header that is the same height as factory exhaust [summit catalog] but they dont make one for the corvette yet .
the factory headers on my 82 , are small ports and dont match the exhaust ports on the heads as well as the aftermaket headers do .how much would i gain ? some, not a hole lot . best thing i did was a free flowing cat .
Try Sanderson Headers 800-669-2430 and I'm pretty sure they can help you. I went with their block hugger jet hot coated headers for my 80 and they were $ 395.00 total freight included, and fit beautifully.
