I have a 1977 Vette with 68k on it. I was told it was built on the first day of '77 production. Does this make it worth more? I downloaded RPO codes from www.idavette.net and would like to match numbers up, but I cannot find where the RPO codes are. Did they put an RPO plate on the cars in '77? If so, where?

What's last four digits of the VIN? This will confirm if it's first day of production. In any case, the value probably isn't affected one way or the other.
The tank sticker is the only document on the car that will list which options your car came with, but there's not many features on a '77 that are not obvious to the eye anyway.
0075 are the last 4 numbers. Car is white, beige interior, AC, PW, AM/FM, luggage rack. I was interested in the engine and suspension packagaes. Where is the tank sticker?
You can purchase a copy of the Dealers invoice for $50 bucks from Allied Vaughn fax (419-887-6851).Request order form. (give e-mail address).
Lists all RPO's on your Vette plus shipping date,dealer,etc....for Vettes 1977 and up...
They just need your Vin and address....

Peggy at GM archives was providing this service for free.
Has someone taken over the job for a fee?
the tank sticker is on.........wait for it..... the top of the petrol tank!
After all these years it may have fallen off or be unreadable.

Bummer! Was reading this and was getting excited until got to the part that said 77 and up!
Oh well
Oh and that would be pretty cool to have a vette made on the first day...but yeah don't see how it will increase value. You never know though..maybe there is that one person wanting one made on the first day in 77...

GM was getting so many requests,it became a bigger task so they have their "tier one" supplier Allied Vaughn manage the General Motor Invoice service.......
I think that the serial number could add some extra value to the car, but not really that much. For instance if your car is a 1977 and the serial number is 0077, then that would be a pretty cool serial number to have. Or if the serial number was 1977 that would be even better. Of course having the very first 1977 made s/n 0001 or the very last 1977 Corvette made would also have some nostalgic reason to it.
I have a 1973 454 car. My serial number ends in ...454. Thats how I knew it was the car for me to buy. Its KARma. Yeah...thats the ticket.
A list of RPO's for a 68? The Black Book has the list of RPO's for all the years. Idavette.net and other websites.
OR do you mean specifically the list of the RPO's your 68 came with?
Cause I don't think you can. (only 77 and up as the forum member stated above). I think you will only know if you have the tank sticker....I hope Im wrong though, cause Id love to know what my 70 came with.
I haven't found all the answers on this yet, but it appears there was also a carbon copy of the tank sticker which some call the "Build Sheet" that was left inside the car somewhere along the assembly line.
I still have the Build Sheets for the 70 LT1 convertible and 73 coupe I bought new. They were inside the cars when they came off the transport carriers. I also have half of one for my 73 LS4 convertible that came with the car, but previous owners don't know if it's part of the tank sticker or build sheet. These are valuable not only for the RPOs, but often have the engine numbers, carb code, Rear Axle #, Transmission #, and Key #s.
I've never seen a real "tank sticker", so I don't know how to tell the difference. Any experts here know how to differentiate the difference between the 2? Several other late 60s early 70s GM A Bodies I've owned recently have had Build Sheets under the seats and under the carpeting, sometimes both.
For what it's worth, I have found build sheets folded and inserted in the seat springs, under the carpet in the passenger floorboard, and inserted in the rear leaf springs. The sheet in the rear leaf was very hard to read as you might imagine
To the fellow that wants a list of all '68 RPO numbers, PM me with your email and I will send you an attachment of the '68 codes and options.
BTW, I suggest everyone get a black book if you don't have one.

The engine code is part of the VIN, and the suspension package (if any) can be deduced from the number of leaves in the spring and diameter of the front sway bar.
