It helps reduce chasis flex, esp need with a vert.

Ties the upper A-Arm towers together. The towers are notorious for crackin and braking at the poor factory welds. It is common practice to reweld the towers and add a spreader bar to minimize flex.

You can buy them in kit form or pre welded from VB&P. I just made my own just because.

I'm guessing this was a roadracing thing but the stresses would exist in 1/4 mile cars that get air and on the street hitting a pot hole. The street might be the worst IMHO
