Don't know how legal the ticket would have been, but in 1961, my buddy said we could race in his employeer's (and others) parking lot on a Sunday. PA also had Blue Laws at the time so the stores had to be closed.
A '59 TR3, '5? Austin Healy, '5? MGA, and a Bug Eye Sprite are tearing around the mall parking lot when the local arrives. We were going to be ticketed for racing until I mentioned the name of one of their officers who used to work for my dad. That got us off but we only got a few laps in.
When you are 19 years old you are easily intimidated by the flashing lights.
Be careful and check the laws.
