Default tranny id?

I have what I believe is a th-350 (has the pan shaped like a square minus one corner at 45 degrees), but the tailshaft doesnt have the same speedo gear setup as the replacement gear I purchased?

It seems to have a larger gear and housing like the th-400?

any idea what this is? Can you even have a tailshaft from th-400 mated to a th-350?

I dont see any id#'s on it either?

thanks

There is both a short and a long tailshaft for TH350s. Perhaps the gears a little different for the two.

if you are looking for the ID# you can look from the driverside and right above the tran pan there is a plate with the VIN and ID that should let you find all the right specs

I cant see any id on it? the pan has 13 bolts and is shaped like the th350 and the length of the tranny also corresponds to specs I have found. the tailshaft is 6 inch, but looks like the th700 or th400 shaft? would either of these shafts fit and work correctly on a th350?

Like I said, there is 1 short shaft for th350 and 1 long. You've got the long.
