I'm getting to the point where I need to get my 68 appraised. It's currently insured for $30k, but they want an appraisal done (no hurry, they said). With the value of the earlier C3s rising exponentially, I'd like to try and get a good number and adjust my coverage appropriately.
I live in a small town (15,000 souls) in NW Ohio.
How does one go about findnig a good appraiser for specialty autos?
You can try one of these three options.
1. Ask Hagerty (or another Collector Car Ins. Co) to recommend an appraiser in your area.
2. If there is a Corvette repair shop in your area, they would be able to recommend an appraiser. This is the route I went.
3. Check out the sites on the web that offer that service.

I had to use the only one in the immediate area that is in the phonebook. You might need to meet one halfway to a larger city if there isn't anyone close.
I had mine done two weeks ago. Mine came in at $28,600 and its a SB. Mine is in very good condition. Yours looks better and is a BB. I am guessing yours wil appraise close to $40,000. Whilst the insurance company may say "no hurry" they will definitely want it for a claim (or before).
My appraisal cost $50. The guy who did it had owned 30 or so corvettes and has owned about 200 muscle cars. He used to pick up 58 vettes for $2000. He showed me some old used car adds. Made me want to cry.
I think my insurance agent recommended mine.
They are also in the phonebook, just look for one specializing in collector cars. I got mine done in Huber Heights, Oh
