I will be moving to FL in July from NJ. I haven't been able to find anything about Classic or Historic car registration in FL (like in NJ) on the internet. I have my 72 under regular registration in NJ at the moment (passed inspection last fall), but would like to go the classic registration/insurance route in FLif such a thing exists there. I understand there is not inspection either way there.
Does anyone know the particulars about registration in FL?

Yes, we have "Antique" plates (I believe that's what they say). Just bring your old reg. to DMV and request 'em. You're going to pay full-bucket for insurance as a daily-driver. The only "discounted" insurance, regardless of plates, is collector car insurance as offered by Hagerty's, et al. That comes with restrictions (locked garage, limited driving, good record, etc.).
Registration is cheap. You can apply for Antique plates or if you can find one you are allowed to use a plate from the year of manufacture of your car ie a 72 FL plate if you can find one. Personalized plates are only an extra $10 a year and there are a gazillion different colours and flavours of plates you can order.
Insurance through Hagertys is usually under $200. If you drive it for "pleasure" instead of errands then you will have no problems. The locked garage is a must.
It seems you can do almost anything you want to a car down here.
Oh yeah and the weather is great 360 days a year . The other 5 days we don't want to talk about!
I had already looked through the website supplied in one of the responses above. Based on the website and reading between the lines of the responses - It appears that I can get special plates for the car, but there does not appear to be an actual difference in the registration designation in FL to attain collector insurance (Hagerty, ...). In NJ you have to pick between regular registration/regular insurance ($$$)/inspection, Classic car registration (mileage restriction)/classic insurance, antique car (shows only)/antique insurance.
By the way, I lived in FL for 5 years in mid/late 80's and my wife has a bunch of family there. Will be entering a business with my father-in-law in Tampa. I see there are several Corvette clubs in the area, will be looking into them, ... & eventually some autocrossing.
