Default Head light position switch

I have a 71 coupe with two micro switches hanging below headlight assemblys. I think these are the reason a red light is lit on dash when headlights are turned on. Does anybody know where these mount on light assembly? I have looked in assembly manual and it shows a round switch lining up with a hole in frame, but both of these are square.
Thanks in advance for any info......ED

ED,

The switch is the one in the ZIP Catalog link below

Switch

It mounts in the notched hole in the forward link of the headlight linkages....see below

linkage

The switch often breaks off the linkage...it's only a plastic thread.

Let me know if this helps,
Joe

Jyounane: That was exactly the info I needed, it makes sense with the assembly manual drawing, now that I see a threaded piece has broken off both switches. I guess I know what I'll be ordering next for my mobile money pit. Thanks for your help ED

If you unplug them for now, the red light (Headlight Opening) won't bother you any more.

Default head light position switch

Thanks for all the helpful posts on my headlight question. I have unpluged both swiches and it a temp. fix . Got to get new ones ordered but it is one of those back burner problems that may be fixed when it is too cold out to drive, this winter. Ya gotta love this board, there's always somebody with the answer. Thanks again .......ED
