I am about to put a new master cylinder and four new calipers on my '78. I have drilled and slotted rotors already (stock sizes). I am curious about a nice looking and working caliper. Not more than $100.00 a piece. Also any info on some calipers to stay away from.
I'd recommend you stick with good rebuilt original type calipers. They are a proven design with the exception of the bore rusting problems but that's been solved with stainless sleeves. Check your rear spindles for excessive endplay as this could cause air pumping into the rear calipers.

proven to be a maintenence nightmare.
take a look at wilwood calipers. Brand new Dynalites are as low as 90 bucks, you need new brackets. 427V8 makes the front (around $150) and Heidt's hot rod shop makes the rears ($110)
dump the show and shine section and come over to tech and we'll teach you all about it.
OK, and how many proven miles on these? The main problem is that people don't drive the cars for months or longer and don't change brake fluid on a regular basis.
Ok, so where can I get wilwood stuff direct and at what price? I lke the idea of the quick change pads. It looks like the forged calipers would be the way to go if the price was right
