Default ****ty night....

so i was going to see a girl tonight and my car decides to over heat. i got stuck on the side of a busy *** highway for about an hour and half. the first truck showed up and they guy said it kept dieing on him do he called another truck and it was on the way. so i wait another 30 min. then i start it just to see whats goin on with her and there is this bad knocking, the tow truck guy says its probably the therostat. i hope he is right since it overheated. pretty much its under this section to ask your guys opinion on it. if i heard knocking then it over heated is that the thermostat? i hope so.

Knocking is never good. Hopefully you shut it down before you blew a head gasket. 2 out of the 3 times I was in that situation (knocking) it ended up being a failed thermostat leading to a blown head gasket.

Could be a corroded/clogged radiator too causing the problem.

money?... if you do it yourself the head gaskets alone are pretty cheap and the rtv and intake gaskets dont cost much either. it would take the better part of a day to replace them if you have the time.

If you paid somebody to replace them it would cost u a good bit. i have no idea on the good bit side of thing i tend to do all the tinkering myself.

Next time, dont tell your corvette you are going out with another girl. My corvette always gets jealous and starts having problems when i go out on dates. Good luck
